Grass No. 18 - What Is Wrought

Grass No. 18 - What Is Wrought
By Hudson Gardner • Issue #18 • View online

The great engineering projects of the world
Wrought by humans or built up
The diversion of rivers
The cutting-into of hills
Things made
Do what they are made to do
The intention of the builders
Carries through with their purpose and function
But tis rare that these
Touch deeper than mind
Leave anything other than
A cold, permanent feeling
What I write and wring
From what I find
Is with a hope to bring
Something that has no reason
Function, or purpose
Something undesigned
Springs up freely
In heat a cool breeze
In cold a warm hand
For all
